I’m amazed at the MLB trade deadline activity. This definitely the most active end of July I can remember. At least two guaranteed hall of famers, albeit towards the end of their respective careers were traded. Pudge rodriguez was tradedto the Yankees in a trade that got me, a devoted Yankees fan, ecstatic. Griffey Jr was traded to the ChiSox for nothing, hoping he will get a chance to play in a world series, sadly this will not come to fruition because the Yankees will win it all once again. Along with these two sure Cooperstown inductees a few likely HOFers were traded in July including: CC Sabathia, Mark Teixiera, Manny Ramirez and prospects Craig Hansen and Andy Laroche, both heading to the Pirates. Other big names that were on the move included Jason Bay, Kyle Farnsworth, Arthur Rhodes, Rich Harden, Casey Kotchman and Xavier Nady. If the trades that happened included just any one of these groups it would have been a big trading deadline. With all of these players on the move there is only one word to describe it: impressive.
